You will be writing a body-paragraph essay. It will be a lengthy, substantive paragraph (you can break it down into smaller body paragraphs) telling your classmates as emerging academic writers your view on “Tolerance Paradox.”  Should we always tolerate what the “Other Side” says and believes in the name of free speech and an open democratic society or are some ideas so detrimental and corrosive that it paradoxically hurts the concept of free speech and a democratic society?  
You are expected to fully converse with Will Tomer and Sean Blanda by summarizing their main ideas, using correct in-text citation and strong signal phrases and signal verbs, and stating and elaborating why you agree and/or disagree.  You can also bring in Adam Greenwood, Milo Yiannopoulos, Stanley Fish, and Glenn Greenwald to help develop your ideas and provide concrete examples to demonstrate your points. 
Please remember the purpose of this paper is to practice some important rhetorical moves that academic writers make to have an engaging conversation with their sources.  Your body-paragraph essay should be at least a full page. Many students in the past wrote a page and a half to two pages for their body paragraph essay.

In addition, you must integrate at least one passage (quote) from Blanda’s article and one from Tomer’s article. You can bring in additional sources we discussed this semester to help develop your thoughts: Adam Greenwood’s Ted Talk, Milo Yiannopoulos being interviewed, and Stanley Fish and Glenn Greenwald debating free speech. You can access all in Module Three or at the bottom of this page under “Resources.”
