We are writing a literature review on a chosen topic, mine is can the media make people more or less racist. The requirements given include
– why is important to answer this research questions
– what do we already know about the outcome variable (DV) I am focusing on
– what does prior research tell us about all of the IV’s that affect the outcome variable I am interested in
– what do we already know about the key IV I am focusing on
– what does prior research tell us about how my key IV affects outcomes other than the DV i am studying
– what does prior research tell us about how my key IV affects the same DV i am studying but only with certain cases/times/populations
– what do we still not know about my research question
-EACH PARAGRAPH OF YOUR LIT REVIEW SHOULD NOT BE A SUMMARY OF ONE SOURCE
I have already written a rough draft on it and I was looking for someone to severely and heavily edit it, restructure it, and add more.
The biggest revision my professor told me to make was:
– The structure of your paper still reads like a paragraph-by-paragraph summary of difference sources instead of a section-by-section summary of the relevant IV and DV with sources cited as appropriate. Center the substance and findings from the research (that’s what is important) rather than centering the author or the paper they wrote.
