One aspect of psychology many people think that psychology involves manipulation. In many respects they are correct. Influence and manipulation is studied is in social psychology. That is – how can you get others do what you want? You influence and/or manipulate them into doing what you want, of course. There are multiple ways to influence and manipulate the attitudes and behaviors of others. We sometimes manipulate and influence others consciously, and we sometimes do so unconsciously. Techniques include persuasion, the foot-in-the-door technique, conformity, the norm of reciprocity, and authority/obedience. How might you apply these concepts in your life so as to promote yourself and get people to do what you want them to do for you.
Q2)Like many of the psychological factors we have been studying, personality is affected by both nature and nurture. Each of us is born with particular temperamental styles, which are the precursors to our adult styles. Your task is to describe your personality and them relate to the personality of the people who raised you. Does your personality match one of your parents or is it a mix between the two? In your view, which influenced your personality more – nature (your genetics) or nurture (your experiences)? Why?
