Throughout our journey in this class, we will learn to define and understand political systems, concepts, theories, and ideologies, which look very different depending on where one lives in the world. These concepts shape the way individuals, organizations, and countries think and behave in political, economic, and social ways in their own societies.
Thus, for this assignment students are tasked with writing a 2-4 pages paper that will answer the following question: If you were to live in the perfect society, what would that society look like? You will create your own country, its name, location, etc. In your design, you are asked to consider a myriad of possibilities related to the government structure/system and political structure, laws, path to citizenship, economy, national security, religion, education system, and whether or not it’s free of charge, health care system, ethnicity of the citizenry, local and national leadership (i.e. sex and gender of the leaders (president or prime minister)), and many other components that would make up a “perfect” society in your eyes. Please research at least 5 countries and model your perfect society after them and don’t forget to list them in your paper. Remember, to earn a good grade you will need to demonstrate that you can apply what you have learned in this course to your “perfect society” by using concepts like power, resources, political ideologies, types of government and leaders, and other structures I mentioned above but also don’t forget to be creative.
Suggestions: Plan your paper accordingly and ahead of time, think about what you’d like to cover, read/research your topic, and make an outline about what you’d like to say prior to writing and submitting. Remember this is your final exam assignment. Take it seriously and don’t forget your citations/cited sources at the end. The 2-4 pages doesn’t include your cited works page.
