First, identify and explain the advantages held by economic groups as compared to non-economic groups in the U.S. Next, apply the rationality principle to explain why the free-rider problem may be a significant hurdle to the organization of non-economic interest groups. Finally, make and defend an argument about whether or not interest groups have too much power in the policy-making process in the U.S. Support your argument with information from the Patterson video.
