This Assignment is Comprehensive and must be done very thoroughly.  This assignment has 5 pages Limit on your final submission and is worth 10% of your grade. Please look at the two different aspects the following 3 different websites: (1) Security aspects of website – (does it offer enough security to the customers to do online transactions?) and (2) privacy policies of the same 3 different companies as listed on their website. 
The three company websites are: (1) www.Amazon.com  (2) www.wayfair.com (3) www.overstock.com
Your assignment must compare the three websites and assess the sufficiency and quality of security factors and privacy policies.  
What is the goal — define the criteria that you will use to compare the three companies? 
Criteria about what — privacy and security policies … for example – do each of these companies sell your personal data? 
How exhaustive these criteria ought to be —- very thorough because you are look at the criteria NOT JUST FROM consumer perspective, you are also considering merchants and public policy criteria.
What are public policy criteria – it has to do with laws — for example, US laws allow automatic opt in for sending you junk mail … European laws do not. So, what are good criteria from the legal or public policy perspective.
You must be very clear of what you are being asked to do.  You are comparing privacy and security policies of the 3 companies.  How do you compare? The only way to compare is to have common standard or criteria for comparison.  Unless you have common criteria, your comparison will be useless.   You must work to analyze and decide which ONE of the three (3) companies are better from the perspective of (1) consumers, (2) security of Merchants and (3) Public policy perspective. 
PLEASE REMEMBER IF THERE IS NO COMMON CRITERIA FOR COMPARISON OF THE COMPANIES, YOUR ASSIGNMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE MET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS ASSIGNMENT AND THUS WILL NOT HAVE A PASSING SCORE.  YOUR SCORE WILL LIKELY BE BELOW 60%. 
Next step requires you to use the criteria you have developed and listed as 1,2,3,4,5 etc. for privacy and 1,2,3,4,5 etc. for security from 3 different perspectives – consumers, merchants and public policy and ADD/SHOW HOW YOU WILL USE EACH OF THESE CRITERIA TO COMPARE 3 COMPANIES. GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF TWO.  The same thing needs to be done for Privacy policy of the companies.
You are required to come to a conclusion and suggest which website is the best as far as security is concerned and also which site provides the best privacy policies to the customers.  The best website for security and privacy need not be the same and/or for the same company.  Please make sure you analyze which of the three (3) are better from the perspective of (1) consumers, (2) security of Merchants and (3) Public policy perspective.
PLEASE make sure that you cite your sources within the text of your 5 pages and then provide those references in the Bibliography at the end.  You have a 5-page limit but it does not include bibliography.  You can add extra pages ONLY for Bibliography.
