This assignment gives you the opportunity to celebrate what you have learned this semester by writing your own Cli-Fi short story or screenplay.  Feel free to explore any of the ideas, themes, settings, etc. that have come up in class or in your imagination.  Think of some “What if’s” and write a story that explores that question. While climate change often brings visions of dystopian settings and situations, change can also bring or inspire positive developments (think of ‘Staying Afloat’).  You might take this opportunity to explore how humans might adapt to a new environment, a new reality.  Note: You are welcome to integrate your research into this short story project.  You might choose to do research that will help you build the setting or conflicts in your short story.  You might take the opportunity of the research project and the short story project to explore a climate change consequence like sea-level rise or increased volcanic activity or an adaptation like geo-engineering.  Use real science and the storytelling techniques
