The writing assignment is a research
paper that argues a specific
position on a topic d erived from Hamlet. The research paper should be an
argumentative synthesis, so it must be governed by the thesis “Hamlet’s
representation of madness in Shakespeare’s play is a nuanced examination that
blurs the lines between contrived insanity and genuine psychological disorder,
leaving the understanding of his mental state open to varying viewpoints and
scholarly discussion.” You should use the eight sources provided to buttress
your argument. Compose a
researched argument on Hamlet that argues sanity versus madness.
Submission Guidelines 
Give the paper an appropriate title.
Only Use the attached 8 works cited in the Word Doc.
Highlight and underline your thesis statement.
12 font, double space, Times New Roman.
Ensure that every paragraph begins with a topic sentence.
Include the “Works Cited” or “Bibliography” page.
Works Cited page does not count as one of your required pages.
Do not include a title page.
Number your pages.
Follow the MLA protocol.
The file should be formatted as a Microsoft Word document.
Notes From Professor:
Does the introduction provide a clear thesis that is precise, relevant to a chosen primary text, and debatable?
Does the paper use credible research sources, including peer review articles?
Does the conclusion flow from a cohesive and well-supported argument?
Has the writer properly acknowledged sources by use of in-text citation?
Does the works-cited page contain at least eight secondary sources, and does the documentation adhere to MLA protocol? 
Are the writer’s ideas presented in a logical way that guides readers through a consistent argument, paragraph by paragraph? 
Does each paragraph have a topic sentence that is consistent with the main thesis statement?  If the topic sentence of the paragraph is a distraction from the thesis, then you should suggest how the writer might revise the sentence to re-align the paragraph?
Do individual paragraphs seem arranged in a meaningful, coherent sequence?
