The fourth module of this course is intended to address the topic of empowerment

April 12, 2024

The fourth module of this course is intended to address the topic
of empowerment. For this module, students will come up with a proposal to
address an identified need in our community. The intent of this project is to
give students the opportunity to practice empowerment.
The rubric provided below outlines how your grade for this
assignment will be evaluated.
Your “final product” for this assignment will be a detailed
journal which will need to be submitted in CougarView.
As you work on this project, creativity is encouraged. You may
want to develop a company/project name and any additional branding or marketing
tools that would help gain support for your proposal.
You have $5000 to spend on the project, so your proposal SHOULD
NOT include a fundraising component.
Please select and address one of the
following issues:
4. Mental Health
Propose a way to address this issue on our campus.
Your journal of this proposal MUST include
the following information:
1. A proposal introduction
What is the issue you are going to address?
2. An explanation of the “why” behind your proposal
In two sentences or less, share a “Why Statement” for your
proposed idea that is along the lines of Simon Sinek’s model (from Module 3).
Additionally, provide the rationale for your proposed idea and
make the case that it is a need in our community. Be sure to include research,
data, and sources that are relevant to your proposal. (Be sure to look into
what work is being done already to address this issue/something similar to it
in this area!)
3. A general idea of what it would take to implement your
idea/proposal
Who are the key stakeholders?
Please identify the specific people with whom you would need to
work to make your idea happen. You should provide names and an explanation of
their role in the project.
What are the logistical requirements of the project?
Consider any communication/promotion, space, and equipment needs.
Please note that this DOES NOT have to be an itemized list of ALL
of the required logistics, just a general idea/outline
4. An explanation of how your proposed idea addresses Greenleaf’s
Best Test (from Module 2, SL at CSU document): https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action?language=en
You must state clearly how your idea will empower others to become
wiser, healthier, freer, more autonomous, and/or more likely themselves to
serve others.
Your journal should be delivered as if you are presenting to your
key stakeholders – meaning that professionalism is expected.
