Students will select two of the topics below, ranked on importance in youth sports, and write a research paper on the purpose of youth sports offered by recreation and sport agencies from the standpoint of the three selected topics discussing why they are the most important for youth development:

Everyone wins (no score is kept)
Character development
Skill development
Fun
Social skills
Physical activity-Healthy lifestyle
This is a research paper and must be strongly supported with academic sources from peer-reviewed journals. Students are allowed to use personal insight, experiences, and opinions in the conclusion portion of the paper. Paper must be three (3) pages in length and must have 6 references.  Papers that do not meet the minimum length will receive a zero.  Citations and references should be written in APA style.  Title page and abstract are not required.
