Students will know who represents them in Congress, and students will find a bill about an issue that is of interest to them and be able to understand the process and outcome of the bill.
1) Name the U.S. Senators who represent the state of Texas?
2) Name the member of the U.S. House of Representatives (also referred to as Congressmember) for the district you live in?
A) List the name of both the senators and member of the House of Representatives at the federal level and district numbers
B) List three (3) issues that are important to both of the senators and three (3) issues important to the House Representative.  Explain the issues. 
3) Find a current bill (any status) in the U.S. Congress.
A) What is the bill title and number?
B) What is the bill seeking to accomplish? Explain in detail (read the text, title, and summary).
C) Who is the sponsor of the Bill?
D) Are there and co-sponsors of the Bill?
If yes, who? (Name the co-sponsors.  If more than three, just list the number of co-sponsors)
E) What is the outcome of the Bill? (became law, stopped in committee, etc.)
4) Why did you select the bill?  (answer must be at least one paragraph (4 to 5 sentences) for this question)
PART 2: “Judicial Review Case”
Objective: Students will research and explain a case that was decided through Judicial Review.
1) What is the case?
A) Include parties to the case
B) Date of case
C) Outcome of case? (what was the court’s opinion)
D) Why was it challenged? What constitutional right(s) were allegedly violated?
