Students will choose specific UAlbany community (review definition of community from previous class) and a health behavior that is relevant to that UAlbany community. You will think about what social and environmental factors affect that health issue at UAlbany. You will also consider who is likely to participate in that behavior and why by applying concepts from your readings.   See Discussion section of Brightspace to post for the 4 plus 2 points for this part of the assignment.
Next you will take photograph(s) that you think reflect or represent the factors that influence the health topic you chose. The pictures can be creative. You do not need to literally take a picture of the health topic in action. Try to photograph how the photo reflects UAlbany assets or barriers related to the social or environmental influences and the health issue.    
Short Essay.  Students will submit a paper (no more than 1500 words) that defines and describes the defines the health topic and behavior. If possible provide data (search online) about the prevalence of the health topic and what influences it using a brief internet search and literature search. Then choose one or two photos and write about them. Describe how it reflects poor or good health and well-being and the barriers or facilitators to achieving health and well-being. In addition to answering the following questions within the essay, include a brief reflection about your experience with this assignment.  Include the photos in your submission.
In the format of an essay, answer the following questions for the 1500-word essay.   
What does the photo reflect in relation to the health topic at UAlbany?  
What is really happening on or around UAlbany related to the health topic? Why does the situation reflected in the picture exist? Make sure you reflect on health topic and the social or environmental factors that influence the health issue.  
How does it relate to student’s lives on campus?  
What do you think can be done to improve the health issue or what is reflected in the picture occur?  OR if more appropriate, What else or alternatively can be done to improve the social or physical environment to improve health or well-being?
