Some of the types or categories of individuals who are incarcerated include career criminals, individuals with substance use disorders, individuals who have committed sexual crimes, and individuals who may have mental illnesses. These differences mean that there are several challenges that corrections must be able to identify and work through in order to serve each client. The issues that impact the differentiation of correctional clients include the client’s risk to the community, the need for special programming, and the corrections officials’ ability to make distinctions within each group. 
Prepare an essay analyzing the types of individuals who may represent the corrections population. Be sure to address the following: Do you believe that corrections can accurately meet the needs of all members of these populations? Why or why not, and how? Please provide examples to illustrate your points.
