REQUIRED ELEMENTS: The paper should be structured using a normal research paper outline as follows:
TITLE – All papers need to be given a title that reflects the topic and findings
INTRODUCTION – Introduce the topic (the “problem”) and present the research question that your paper will answer.
RESEARCH QUESTION(S) – Within the introduction
ROADMAP – (OPTIONAL) Short paragraph that follows the RQ and tells the reader how the paper will proceed to address and answer the RQ
LITERATURE REVIEW – Introduce other scholars’ writings on the subject so that the reader understands the academic context or “conversation” that your research paper will join. This usually takes the form of short summaries of the findings of other works. One or two sentences per work can suffice. [For example: “Sachs and Warner (2001) explain the poor performance of petroleum exporters after the first oil shock by studying economic growth across 95 developing countries. They claim that large revenue inflows had undercut development, and that exports of minerals and fuels were negatively linked to growth between 1970 and 1990.”]
METHODOLOGY – (OPTIONAL) If you use a particular scholarly methodology other than reviewing already published research, declare it. Tell the reader why you chose this methodology and describe its appropriateness for the topic and setting.
NARRATIVE/DISCUSSION – Present any data or descriptive material
FINDINGS – Discuss your insights; develop your argument; interpret your data. Tell the reader how your paper/findings differ from those of previous authors
CONCLUSION – Summarize your findings. The conclusion should provide a satisfying answer to your research question. If it does not, be sure to adjust your research question accordingly.
BIBLIOGRAPHY – Cite all sources used in full
N.B. – For a more in-depth description of elements in a typical research paper, see: http://www.studygs.net/wrtstr8.htm链接到外部网站。
STYLE: 12 point, double-spaced. Use a common font such as Times New Roman, Arial, Palatino, Garamond, etc.
LENGTH: 3,000 words max, not counting citations, references or graphic elements – within reason. Please include a word count at the end.
FORMAT: Submissions in MS Word are preferred but PDF is also OK.
HONOR CODE AND ACADEMIC CITATIONS: .Your paper must adhere to the guidelines below to pass routine plagiarism checks. Cite all sources using a common reference style such as Chicago or APA. Provide a full bibliography (not just URLs). Further:
Quotations: Any quotations, however small, must be placed in quotation marks or clearly indented beyond the regular margin. Any quotation must be accompanied (either within the text or in a footnote) by a precise indication of the source – identifying the author, title, place and date of publication, and page numbers or URL. Any sentence or phrase which is not the original work of the student must be acknowledged
Paraphrasing: Any material summarized or paraphrased from a source must be specifically acknowledged in a footnote or in the text, as would a direct quotation.
Crediting Ideas and Facts: Any ideas or facts borrowed from a particular source should be acknowledged in a footnote or in the text of the paper, even if the idea or fact has been further elaborated by the writer.
Acceptable Citation Types
Footnotes: A footnote number may be placed after the borrowed material, and footnotes should be numbered consecutively throughout a given paper. Each number will key to a note which identifies the author, title, place and date of publication, and page numbers/URL of the source of the borrowed material. Notes may be placed at the bottom of the page or at the end of the paper.
In-Text Citations: The author’s last name and year of publication from which the quotation or paraphrase is taken must appear in the text, usually in parentheses at the end of the sentence, just before the period, i.e. (Matusow, 1984). A complete reference should appear in your bibliography. If the author’s name appears in the sentence itself, place the year in parentheses. For book citations, add page numbers.
As for this paper,I’ve got the content basically finished, I need to change the structure a bit as requested, and then add in text citation, and the form of the citation, and add some more citation
