Rationale: First person recovery narratives are an important source of materials that can help us refocus our thinking beyond an outdated disability as a deficit perspective. 
Autobiographical accounts serve as a strong testament to the inherent strengths of people who face the challenge of disability. This assignment requires your group to reflect on narratives and help you, as practitioners, understand and respect diversity within the culture, lived experience and life context of individuals we serve.

Your presentation should also include: 
a summary and discussion of the media/source 
an analyses and discussion of the media/source using a minimum 2-3 course content and/or themes 
an analysis and discussion of current barriers (professional, personal, societal) 
Write Up: Each group will submit a brief synopsis (summary) of your First-Person Narrative assignment, outlining your thoughts and perceptions on your chosen 
population/individual before completing this assignment and after completing this assignment.
