5116 – PUBLIC SPEAKING DISCUSSION
Discussion Discussion #5: Ethos, Pathos, and Logos, due Wednesday, April 24, 2024 9:00 PM.Discussion #5: Ethos, Pathos, and Logos
Persuasive appeals are around us all the time. Let’s explore them together this week.
Choose at least one of the following videos and pay attention to the persuasive appeals the video uses.
================================================================
This week, we’re continuing with our reading and discussion of the Justice book, which I hope you’re enjoying. We’ll be covering Chapters 4 and 5, so be sure to read those, as well as my lecture notes about last week’s readings,  and then go to the Discussion Board and participate in the discussion.  I’ve put links in the Module to further episodes of Sandel’s Harvard class, though I won’t be giving any more extra credit for watching them. I’m just doing so for those who are interested.  Besides, I think it really helps to watch them for Sandel’s explanations of the material that he covers in his book.
Note that for this week, you only have one Reading Response to send me, and it should cover both chapters. Remember, the Reading Response should be at least 350 words.

Also, though I’ve said this many times, if you’ve missed turning in any Reading Responses due during the semester, you can still turn them in for reduced credit, which is better than no credit at all.
