(C) Andrea Yates and other women who commit infanticide are either jailed or hospitalized in mental health facilities.  Are these the best solutions? How can we decrease these occurences? What public policies/actions would be helpful?

Andrea Yates drowned her 5 children during an episode of postpartum depression.  She had a long prior history of mental illness. 
She is not alone. Approximately 1-2% of all pregnancies result in post-partum psychosis. Some of those individuals go on to commit infanticide, murdering their children.

Medical errors may be the third leading cause of death in the United States per our textbook in Chapter 12.  We have all heard about verdicts in the millions of dollars and yet these errors continue. This week we are going to look at how benchmarking is used in the current day health care industry!
Please find a news article that is less than one year old and from a reputable news source (MSN, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, etc) that discusses the use of benchmarking by a specific health care organization. Be sure to select an article that has not already been discussed by another student.
Note: Searching for an article using search terms like “health care benchmarking” is not likely to be successful.  Instead, think of how benchmarks are used in health care and search for articles that discuss the types of things that are frequently benchmarked.  This is much more likely to lead to success!
For your original post, demonstrate your understanding of benchmarking by discussing how the benchmarking process benefits the organization discussed in your article.
