Choose ONE of the topics below. Your paper should be submitted in 12 point times new
roman font, 1.5 spacing. There is no need to complete a header on your assignment.  You should have  at least 2 pages!  (if you go over, that’s okay).  Submit your essays by            uploading your answers through canvas in a Microsoft word or pdf format. Make sure you complete a works cited page if you use outside resources. MLA or APA format is fine.           The total assignment is worth 15 points.

For this first assignment, I would like you to find a petition for a Writ of Certiorari to the Supreme Court. I would like you to find one about something you are interested in. I want to know:
1. What the petition alleges (what law was broken/ what was the appeal based on)
2. If the Court granted the Writ
3. The outcome of the case 
4. Why you think its interesting

Z corporation is a multimillion dollar corporation that deals with real estate transactions. In general, the company’s view of ethics is: Greed Is Good. It is not printed anywhere, but that is certainly both public and employee opinion. After landing in some hot water with the government (feel free to invent a backstory here), they have hired you as a Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). 
The job description reads:
The Director of CSR, Z Corp in the Community Programs, drives and supports global CSR programs aligned with Z Corp’s purpose, values and community engagement strategy. Managing a small team, works in close collaboration with regional and cross-functional community impact leaders and teams to drive high-impact employee, client, and community engagement. Oversees enterprise-wide charitable giving through policy governance, administration of grant programs, and impact reporting for management, compliance, and government reporting. Supports and organizes corporate and employee driven volunteer programs to achieve goals and build strong employee and community relations. Working closely with Marketing Communications teams, facilitates ongoing internal communications and periodic external communications of community activities and impact.
Now, you know this job was largely created for show, but you deeply care about giving back and wanting to do a good job. For this assignment, I would like you put together a 2 page CSR plan to implement in the company (your choice- it can be large scale fundraising or several small events. Whatever you want to do). Please use everything you know about corporations, including duties owed by the power holders, in a way to convince the board they will greatly benefit from this type of program.
