Instructions:
1.     Research:
a.     Identify two prominent professional counseling organizations or credentialing bodies (e.g., American Counseling Association, National Board for Certified Counselors) and select one to focus on for this assignment. 
b.     Familiarize yourself with the ethical standards, codes of conduct, and guidelines from your chosen organization/credentialing body.  Please pay close attention to the principles, values, and rules outlined in their code of ethics.
c.     Research recent developments, updates, or revisions in the ethical standards or guidelines your chosen organization/credentialing body issued.  Make sure your information is current and relevant.
2.     Analysis: 
a.     Write a comprehensive overview of the ethical standards and guidelines provided by your chosen organization/credentialing body.  Discuss the fundamental principles, values, and rules emphasized in the code of ethics.
b.     Identify and describe two case scenarios highlighting ethical and legal dilemmas commonly encountered in counseling. Ensure that the scenarios represent a variety of client populations and settings.
c.     Apply the ethical standards and guidelines from your chosen organization/credentialing body to each case scenario.  Analyze how the ethical principles and rules are relevant to each situation and how they guide ethical decision-making. 
d.     Discuss the potential legal implications of the ethical considerations within each case scenario.  Identify any laws or regulations that intersect with the ethical standards and guidelines.
3.     Reflection:
a.     Reflect on the importance of ethical and legal considerations in professional counseling. Discuss how adherence to ethical standards can contribute to effective client care and professional growth. 
b.     Identify any personal challenges or dilemmas you anticipate in your future counseling practice related to applying ethical and legal considerations. Discuss strategies for addressing these challenges and maintaining ethical integrity. 
Format and Presentation:
·       Your assignment should be in APA format, including citations and references.
·       Use clear headings and subheadings to structure your assignment, following a logical flow of ideas.
·       Your paper should be well-organized, cohesive, and grammatical error-free.
·       The length of your assignment should be 6-8 pages (excluding title page and references).
