Instructions: Check out this video on the leading causes of death in the U.S. from 1900 to 2018 (most recent data).
1) Compare the leading causes in the early 1900s to the mid-1900s, and then to present day. What stands out to you and what might explain any differences?
2) Pick a sub-population (e.g., young adults ages 18-35; Black women; Native American/American Indian men, etc.) and research leading causes of death, and compare the info to the overall leading causes of death today. (feel free to share any links)
3) Watch this short video about the estimated top causes of death in the US compared to COVID-19 deaths (jan -Dec 2020). How might this information change how you or others feel about the fatality of COVID-19 ?
