Recognizing individuals is crucial for motivating employee performance. Leaders who celebrate successes enhance productivity, as motivating feedback stimulates, rekindles, and focuses people’s energies and drive. Exemplary leaders recognize and reward what individuals contribute to the vision and values. They express their appreciation beyond the limits of the organization’s formal systems, enjoying being spontaneous and creative in saying thank you. An exemplary leader becomes personally involved and shows genuine care for employees, reinforcing a sense of belonging and teamwork. This approach not only helps achieve goals but also strengthens core values. Note, one does not have to be a leader or manager to recognize the outstanding contributions of another.
