Ways to Study Atomic Structure: Much of what we know about the atom is limited either to experiments where direct imaging is not possible or to the very few studies that contain some hazy images. How can the development of equipment to visualize atoms and subatomic particles be useful in research? Considering the billion-dollar under-taking, should we still consider this as useful as more immediate experiments? What implications are there for research with or without imaging? (Blaustein)
