OBSERVE AND CRITIQUE AN INVESTOR PITCH
Pitching the venture is one of the fundamental skills ALL entrepreneurs must develop. Whether you are pitching to investors, customers, potential employees or board members, or just pitching to other entrepreneurs you must be able to tell a compelling story.
For this assignment, you are to observe a REAL startup pitch (either online or in person; please DO NOT use a Shark Tank pitch) and critique it in a 2-3 page paper using the following criteria:
Was the person doing the pitch adequately prepared?
Did the pitch include a clear statement of the problem? Expand.
Did the pitch include a clear statement of the solution? Expand.
Was there an indication of what is unique about the proposed solution? Expand.
Did the entrepreneur elaborate on market size? Customer validation? Customer demographics?
Was there a mention of competition and/or competitive strategy?
Did the pitch include a slide on the startup team?
Was there an ‘ask’ for resources?
Did the entrepreneur mention anything about growth strategy? Exit strategy?
