Structure:
2-3 pages (or more)
Title page (Not Included as the 2-3 pages)
Introduction of the topic (About 1 page or less): briefly discuss the major health issue (include why it will be an essential
issue for the next decade and include epidemiological data)
Describe the issue and provide support evidence using research articles/health data from multiple sources (About 1-2
pages):
• Identify the relevant physical, socio-cultural, community organization, and individual factors that influence the
health status of your community as it relates to the health issue.
• Describe the community/population most affected by the issue and account for health disparities
• Explanation of impact (multilevel impact-community vs. US population) why is this health issue necessary today?
For the next ten years?
• Defend your case that the topic is a major health issue Conclusions/Recommendations:
• Identify primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategies being used and that could be implemented
• Include recommended “best practices” (supported by evidence, not based on common practice)
• What was your vision/idea for why this issue is important?
