For your final project, you will be the athletic director of an FBS, Power 5 school and you must create your athletic department plan to the board for approval.
Your presentation will include the following:
Two-year budget P&L showing all revenue and expense line items and projections by each individual year (Year 1, 2)
Details on how you will integrate media (financially, to broadcast teams, generate revenue, branding, etc,)
How you will plan for the opening of a new football stadium in year 1 and the next year when it’s built and open (financials including an actual P&L, sources of revenue and capital, expenses, new additions, advantages/disadvantages, alumni support, etc.)
How you will include the Olympic sports teams your university fields
Identify areas where you can increase revenues and areas you can decrease costs
Include how NIL deals can help your programs
Think about unique sources of revenue (state lottery, taxes, etc.) and forecast unforeseen costs (future pandemic, conference realignment, etc.). Anticipate to the best of your ability.
Identify and highlight fixed and variable costs
The requirements are below:
Must be a PowerPoint presentation
You must include P&L charts, imagery and realistic projections based upon the finances we have discussed in class and/or financials you have researched
You must include an Income Summary page that details overall revenue, expenses and net income/loss by year (1 total page)
It should be between 10 – 15 pages
You must be as specific as possible, especially in your P&L line items
Think about how a college athletic department operates as a business and how you would make that business run and operate profitably. 
You will be graded based upon the following:
Your projections
Usage of realistic benchmarks
Thought process of how to increase revenue/lower costs
Your ability to properly plan and operate a new stadium and all that’s entailed
Your ability to successfully convince the board (i.e. me) that the department’s plan is credible, factual and doable.
