For this assignment you will be developing a plan for how you would build partnerships     with families if you were a family childcare provider. You will use the information that you    learned during the parent interview assignment to create this plan.
Define culturally responsive and reciprocal partnership with families. What do these words mean?                                                                                                                                    Why are the important aspects of a quality parent-teacher relationship?
Develop an intake protocol or inserimento process
that you’d use as a family              childcare provider to welcome new families
to your program                                            (For inspiration for this assignment, make sure to read
the excerpt from                            Bambini: The Italian                                                                                                                            Approach to Infant/Toddler Care)
**inserimento process: The
concept of inserimento: the Italian Perspective: “period of transition
and adjustment”. The time during which the family and the professionals
first meet and begin to work together.
Tell me:
How would you welcome families to the program?
What information would you want to learn from them during this process? (Think        about the questions you asked during the parent interview.)
What strategies would you use to get them to share this information with you?
How would you make the transition for the child and family comfortable?
What are your strategies for making sure that your communication with this family is on- going and reciprocal?
3. Think about the interviews that you did for this imagine that those parents are new             parents to your family childcare program.
For each family, tell me:
How would you use the information you learned when you are caring
for their     child? What would you do different or special to incorporate
the parent’s              practices/ goals into the child’s care with you?
What are ways that you can make your classroom more responsive to this            family’s culture?
Your Plan needs to validate and reflect the understanding of the theory shared by the        author in your textbook, videos and other module materials (modules 10 &11).                         This assignment is not based on your opinion on this subject. While
reflecting on the             importance of building partnerships with parents think
about key concepts, families              interview questions/ answers, appropriate
