Find an example of a participatory research paper in the peer-reviewed literature (not from the course learning activities). Briefly summarize the study and describe the community involved. In what ways does the research involve the community? What was the value of the research to the community? If you can think of additional, or more extensive, ways the community could have been involved, describe your ideas. What are some of the challenges common to participatory research in general? What challenges did the researchers in your example encounter? How did they address those challenges? Conclude by offering suggestions for improving future research endeavors with this population.
