Family businesses are complex organisations and family managers have to deal with intricacies
of modern businesses while simultaneously managing family relationships. Additionally, the
upcoming generation of leadership needs to learn how to make decisions that have both present
and future implications on the business. All of this balancing can lead to a constant struggle
between making decisions for the present while also keeping an eye on the future.
Harvard Business Publishing Family Business Simulation; Honey Heritage takes students
through decisions that a family has to make for its business over multiple generations. Students
need to make decisions through multiple generations of the business, and most of the choices
will set up conflicting priorities.
What am I required to do in this assignment?
After completing the simulation, students will be required to;
– Evaluate some critical issues that could arise in a FB environment.
– Demonstrate your understanding of the dynamics between the family, business and
ownership dimensions in a FB.
– Demonstrate how decisions will change over generations, and each generation will deal
with a different set of decisions.
Academic research and academic citations are required throughout the report.
