Developing Strategic Goals
Organizational transformation cannot be achieved through goal setting alone, but articulating specific, measurable goals is an important first step. Although many organizations utilize a collaborative setting to formulate goals, leaders often facilitate the process and initiate the conversations about needs to address.
For this assignment, you will use the theoretical framework of your preferred leadership theory and a commitment to advance yourself and your organization to develop a 3- to 5-page plan highlighting 5-7 strategic goals.
Step 1. Organize
Develop a list of goals for your plan and organize them into a table using the following column headings:
Goal Types,
Benchmarks of Success, and
Evidence of Progress.
Step 2. Categorize
For each goal, answer the following questions in the table:
Is this a task or relational goal?
Is this a personal or organizational transformational goal?
What are the benchmarks of success or evidence of effectiveness for this goal?
Is this a continuous improvement goal, or is there a timeline for completion?
How will your leadership theory influence the attainment of this goal?
Step 3. Predict
Prepare a conclusion to determine the extent to which these goals are attainable in the short term or long term and what outcomes they may affect in your organization.
Step 4. Submit
Submit your assignment. Conform to APA style and cite at least 3-5 scholarly sources to support your position.
