Please take a few moments and read the supplied short story by Michel and Jules Verne (moodle page). Written in 1890, it illustrates a view on a wide variety of topics that have evolved over time, as the famous SF writers envision.
Please illustrate the main aspects of Innovation that have, in the intermittent 130 year, either come into being as illustrated or have developed into a different status:
Which technical, political or social / societal innovations have been invented and innovated along the lines that MM Verne have envisioned? Why could that be?
Which technical, political or social / societal innovations have NOT happened as described? What would your opinion be as to why not? What could have been a motivator for Verne to anticipate them?
