May 2, 2024

Choose one week’s readings and write a 2-4 page paper that takes a clear position in relation to them. Your paper should offer a summary and analysis of the secondary readings for the week chosen.  As the title suggests, this assignment is asking you to take a position in relation to the readings.  Do you agree with the author’s argument/method/ analysis?  Why or why not?  How would you change the reading for the better?  You can write about all of the readings on the schedule for the chosen week, or you can focus your paper on a specific reading Paper 2 can focus on ANY WEEK between 3/10 and 4/28.
Criteria for success: Successful papers must be the desired length (2-4 pages), and they must engage secondary texts from the correct date range (paper 1 covers weeks through 3/3; paper 2 covers weeks between 3/10 and 4/21). Papers need to be written in complete sentences. Papers need to advance a clear position, which can be as simple as agree/disagree.
