Watch it a few times to understand it better.
Look for three things called appeals: ethos, pathos, and logos. See if they work well in the speech.
Check if the speech is organized well. See if all the parts make sense and if they are in the right order.
Find out what kind of speech this is. It’s called Rhetoric. See what definition of Rhetoric best fits this speech ( See page 1.1: The History of Rhetoric look for blue box with all definitions).
See if the speech makes you care about the topic. Explain how it does.
Look for the main point of the speech. Make sure it’s easy to understand.
See if the speech uses Sophistry. This means using tricky words to make something seem true when it’s not. Decide if this makes the speech seem less believable.
Decide if the speech is a tool to help people make decisions or a philosophy that teaches people how to make choices.
Decide if the speech makes you believe in what the speaker is saying. Explain why or why not.
Check if the message of the speech is easy to understand for everyone who hears it. Explain how you know.
Use the APA citation style to show where you got your information from. Make sure to cite the speech and all the ideas you use.
