The Use of Force continuum method has historically been employed
by law enforcement 
in the United States. Critics have charged that law
enforcement officers tend to resort to 
the most forcible methods when
confronted with suspects, particularly those from 
minority groups.
However, Use-of-Force supporters countered that officers are on the
front line fighting against crime and should avail the necessary
amount of force to protect 
themselves and the community. Various use-of-force continuum models have been 
created to provide guidance about the
circumstances and factors surrounding the Use of Force. Officers must be
aware of their own department’s policy and fully understand what 
is
allowed and prohibited during a use-of-force encounter. Some
practitioners have 
expressed concerns that the Use of Force policy may cause
officers to hesitate in their actions, thereby placing them at risk of
injury. 
Write a ten (10) page research paper on
your position in relation to the proper application of the Use of Force
Continuum in law enforcement. Cite at least five scholarly articles
found in Criminal Justice databases. The format of the final paper is
