Before addressing the Written Response Questions:
A good friend or family member tells you that s/he’s been feeling depressed for several months. S/he’s also having trouble sleeping, eating, and concentrating on her work. Knowing that you’re taking a psychology course, this person asks you whether s/he should try antidepressants or psychotherapy.  
Written Response Questions:
2. What do you believe is important for anyone to be aware of if they know someone with this mental health issue?
3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of antidepressants.  
4. Now discuss the advantages and disadvantages of psychotherapy.  
5. What would you recommend for your friend/family member – antidepressants or psychotherapy?  Explain your choice.
6.  In your opinion, what is the ultimate goal of therapy – whether it be drug therapy or psychotherapy?
Your analysis needs to be saved and submitted as Microsoft Word (.docx) or a Wordpad Rich Text Format (.rtf) document. To summarize:
Your paper must be typed, double-spaced, and written in Times New Roman 12 pt. font.
Your paper should have 1-inch margins all around.  
Paragraph indents should be no more than 1/2 inch.
If you use a header, use only one line.
Your paper should have a properly formatted cover page.
Your paper must be longer than one page in length in content (1 1/2 to 2 is typically good!).  Name, date, title, work cited are additional and do not count as content.  Also, do not number it, make bullet points, or rewrite the questions.
Your paper should be mostly your own words. If you are using someone else’s words, then you need to use quotes, give credit, and connect it to your message. If you paraphrase someone else’s words, then you need to give credit and connect it to your message. For this paper to be scored, no more than TWO (2) sentences can belong to someone’s published work (quoted or paraphrased).
