Background
Since the pandemic, Vandelay Industries has offered a flexible working model where employees may work partly in the physical workplace, and partly remotely – at home or from another workspace. We have gauged the productivity and engagement of these hybrid employees by using extensive live monitoring software. This technology tracks apps opened, websites visited, time spent on various online activities, music played, facial expressions, tone of voice and writing tone — and can even capture images of employees and their computer screens.
Our IT Director, Elaine Benes, has since discovered that employees under 23 years-old are more 15% more productive when working from home compared to older employees. Given this data, our CEO is reconsidering the flexible working model. He has enlisted your help.
Instructions
The CEO has asked you to prepare a two-part presentation in PowerPoint not to exceed 25 slides:
Analyzing whether Vandelay Industries can restrict this flexible working model to only junior employees; and
Identifying and discussing the legal limitations and risks concerning employee monitoring, including privacy and data security liability.
Please utilize the slide notes function in PowerPoint to add speaker notes to each slides. These notes should be used to explain or expand on the slide content as if you were actually presenting the PowerPoint to the CEO and should also note resources relied on for the content of each slide.
Tips
While your PowerPoint will primarily be graded on the accuracy, clarity and depth of the content, here are tips for preparing your presentation:
Choose a single background for the entire presentation.
Use simple, clean fonts.
Write in bulleted format and use consistent phrase structure in lists.
Use direct, concise language. Keep text to a minimum on the slides.
Provide definitions when necessary.
Use white space to set off text and/or visual components.
Make sure each slide logically leads to the next.
Use a heading for each slide.
