B/ Documentary Analysis: The Illusionist (Elena Rossi, 2015)

Part 1: Introduction, general information, what will be in the following paragraphs, etc.
Part 2: A summary of the documentary: the main points made in the documentary and details describing a piece or part that called your attention. It could be data, ideas, anecdotes or any information mentioned that you would like to develop.
Part 3: Elaborate on how the documentary relates to the theme of popular culture that was the focus your lectures for module 4.
In this part you have to add one formal external source to complement your analysis. A formal source is a peer-reviewed paper (https://scholar.google.com/)Links to an external site. or a book from the library. You should discuss this information and make sense of it with the rest of your paper.
Part 4: This is where you intervene with your reflection and it is the most important part! Please reflect on the following: What is the connections between the global spread of beauty norms and neoliberalism? In what sense can one argue that the spread of these beauty norms is an example of globalization as homogeneization through cultural dominanation? Does the documentary invalidate Lane Crother’s view that increased cultural interaction usually leads to hybridization? Can you give an example of people resisting or transforming some of the globalized beauty norms featured in the documentary?
