Construct/design a Brainstorm/Outline that includes 5-7 sections concerning what you already know about your topic and what you wish to know. Add a Tentative Thesis at the top of the Brainstorm/Outline that states a position clearly without the use of ‘I’ and also acknowledges that there are good points on the other side. 
For the Brainstorm/Outline with 5-7 sections you may consider using the following sections:
History/What’s Happening Now with the Issue?
Who does the issue impact and why/how?
What position should be taken with 3-5 points in support?
What position has the other side taken with 3-5 points in support? (Be sure you show respect for the other side.)
