Assessment Description
Communication styles can greatly impact the health of a family dynamic. For this reason, it is important to be able to distinguish the different communication styles within a family. This can help professionals identify techniques designed to improve communication within the family unit.  
For this assignment, use the attached resource to brainstorm how your family interacts.  
After completing the brainstorming activity, write a 250-500-word reflection discussing which communication style (protective, consensual, laissez-faire, or pluralistic) your family uses. In your reflection, address the following questions: 
Explain how your family communicates with each other. 
Explain the power dynamics in your family and how it is communicated.
Explain how rules are articulated in your family.
Describe how your family approaches differences in views.
Explain how you can improve your family communication style. 
You are allowed to use first person for this assignment.
