As responsible citizens, we need to understand how people interact with the environment.  You will either propose a solution to a current environmental issue, or you will analyze a historical situation in terms of the environment and propose a reasonable alternative.  Using the internet and other resources, write a paper on an environmental issue of your choice.   The paper should: 
Analyze a current or historical environmental issue by providing background information that analyzes the development of the issue.
State a claim about an environmental issue.
Provide reasons for your claim, supported by evidence, including:
A possible solution or an alternative solution (historical).
An analysis of benefits and/or costs of two or more stakeholders’
uses of the environment.
Cite specific textual evidence from at least three credible sources that provide relevant information.  Here are some characteristics of credible sources: Authoritativeness: Credible sources are often authored by experts or scholars in the field who have relevant qualifications, credentials, or expertise. Publication Venue: The credibility of a source can also be assessed by the publication venue. Journals, books from reputable publishers, government publications, and reputable websites maintained by academic institutions or organizations are often considered credible.  Accuracy: Credible sources provide accurate and reliable information that is supported by evidence, data, or research.  Objectivity: Credible sources present information in an unbiased and objective manner, without undue influence from personal opinions or biases.  Currency: While not always necessary, depending on the topic, credible sources are often up-to-date, reflecting the latest research, data, or information available. 
Are websites credible?  Websites can be credible sources, but it depends on authorship, domain, reputation, accuracy, currency, references, and website design. Always evaluate these factors before relying on website information.
