Argument is based around what SHOULD happen.  We search for a positive change in the way things will be.  You can see how this idea plays with the wiki.  We were trying to change things for the better.  Now is your chance to change something in society for the better.  I want to see you dig into your experience and write a letter that argues for change.  You will be sending this letter to a fictional newspaper (you can make up the name if you’d like) but the topic should be real and important to you. 
I’ve had people write about changing the policies at local animal shelters (the person worked there and knew exactly what she wanted to change).  There was a letter about changing the registration process at CSU that made a lot of sense.  One person had a very thoughtful argument for taking away the power of regular police to give speeding tickets.
I think he got a speeding ticket on the way to my class.  🙂
Try to get at least one quote from a book into this assignment.  Use books.google.com or Amazon.com to search within published books on your chosen topic.
Your letter should be at least 300 words long.
Your letter can contain first person.
Your letter should have a topic sentence that describes what should change.
The topic sentence should be the first sentence of the letter.
