1. Be sure to write a score and notes for EACH of the strands associated with the traits as  well as a score and notes for the trait overall. Remember to analyze your student’s writing prompt against the grade level exemplarLinks to an external site.
2. Next, use the behavior notes that you took while administering the writing prompt to make an inference statement that connects your students’ behavior(s) to the whole learner subdomainsLinks to an external site.. Use the sentence stem provided on the template so that your connection between behavior and subdomain is very strong. 
3. Finally, consider which ONE trait you want to focus on for your student’s writing intervention, and then use the slides Links to an external site. and SMART goalLinks to an external site. information provided on the template to write a long-term goal for your student’s writing development.
