Response to Iris
I thought  this film
was okay not a movie I would necessarily watch again but I thought that
consistent one shot filming was done really well. At times I did not love how
shacky it made the scenes look but at the same time it gave it the cinematic
draw to the scene. One specific scene that I thought was memorable was when
Riggan got his robe stuck in the doors behind the theater and was forced to
abandon his robe and run through time square in nothing more than his
underwear, then returns to the theater. It was quite interesting watching how
the director was able to capture so much and seamlessly make it look like it
was all done in one shot. I think by having the movie seem like it was all one
shot it helped the viewers feel like they were watching real people live their
lives. In a way it made me feel more connected with the characters and scenes.
While the film gave the appeal that it was shot in one take the lighting,
zooming in and out into character and objects, camera movements were
dramatizing the scenes and making the movie progress in an easy way that made
the movie flow nicely. Overall, I enjoyed this type of cinematography.
