April 23, 2024

A Life Vision presentation shares a little about your past accomplishments and focuses on your goals for the future (personal and academic). I want to know about a couple of things you have accomplished and your future goals. I provide examples below so that you can get an idea of what I expect. You do not have to follow the examples exactly-have fun with this, be creative! Share only what you are comfortable with posting here for your classmates to see. Creativity is encouraged!
Instructions
There are 2 parts to this assignment. You will have to complete the LIfe Vision Presentation and then complete the discussion and upload the presentation.
Part 1: Life Vision Presentation
Using PowerPoint, Google Slides, or another presentation software, create a Life Vision Presentation that includes all of the following:
3 past accomplishments. For example, high school graduation, first job, purchasing your first car, etc – they can really be anything that you are proud of!
Explain the importance and significance of each accomplishment.
5 future goals (AT LEAST TWO OF THESE GOALS MUST BE ACADEMIC). For example, transferring to UCLA, joining the Scholars program, completing your AA degree, etc. The other goals can be personal: traveling, increasing your running speed, learning more about nutrition, etc.
NOTE: your goals must follow the SMART goal setting technique that was discussed in the Goal Setting module- they must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. I encourage you to refer back to the module on goal setting so that you write your goals for this presentation.
You can include marriage and having children as part of your Life Vision, but they will NOT count towards your 5 goals. They will have to be in addition to your 5 goals.
Explain why each goal is important to you. What does it mean for your future? What interests you about achieving this goal?
Customize your presentation! Include images-these can be personal pictures or pictures that represent your goals. Change the presentation style to represent you.
Download the presentation to your device as a PDF. For instructions on how to convert GoogleSlides or PPT as PDF, view the “Additional Resources” section.
YOU WILL ATTACH YOUR PRESENTATION HERE, IN THE DISCUSSION.
Part 2: Life Vision Discussion
Once you’ve completed your Life Vision Presentation, you will need to follow these steps in the discussion:
Write a description of each slide in the discussion area. Think of it this way: This is essentially like a presentation you would do in class. You wouldn’t just put your presentation on the projector and walk away in class, right? No! You would talk about your presentation and elaborate on each slide.
Upload your presentation in PDF format. Do not share a link to your presentation- it must be attached as a PDF to your discussion post.
Respond to the presentations of two classmates.
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR CLASSMATES’ POSTS UNTIL YOU POST FIRST.
Response to Peers
When you respond to classmates, provide advice, suggestions, or positive feedback that will help them reach their goals.
Examples
You do not have to follow the examples below exactly. You are encouraged to be creative and put together the presentation that represents you.
