I want you to brief Boykin v. Alabama, 395 U.S. 238 (1969).

According to the most recent statistics, 90% of criminal cases are plead out, 2% go to trial, and 8% are dismissed or otherwise disposed.  This is contrary to what we might think based on our television and movie viewing.  Discuss the different types of plea agreements.  Why are plea deals part of the criminal justice system? Do plea deals violate a defense attorney’s ethical obligation to be an advocate for their client?
