1    Introduction
1    Introduce your monument. Explain what you think the purpose of monuments are, and how your monument will achieve that purpose.
2    Choose a person you think is worthy of having a monument. Spend a brief paragraph explaining who they are, their accomplishments, what you think makes them worthy of a monument.
3    Describe the location of the monument. This can be as concrete or abstract as you want. “The White House Rose Garden,” “a prominent crossroads with lots of pedestrian traffic” and Graham Center are all adequate responses, but gives reasons why you chose the place that you did. The placement you choose should, in some way, help the monument to accomplish what you see as its purpose.
4    Describe your monument. If you are artistic, or even if you’re not. You may also choose to sketch it out and include the sketch with your description. Explain the form, materials, the position and dynamics of the statue, facial expressions, everything about the monument that you feel is important for creating and conveying its meaning and accomplishing its purpose.
5    Finish with a conclusion that summarizes your project and its importance. Is this something necessary for the community? Is it important for some other reason? Explain.
