Please make sure that the paper does not include: 1st or 2nd person narratives, contractions, large indentations or spacing, lengthy quotations, or extensive summarizations of the text or paper topic. Doing so will require immediate revisions. References pages do not count towards the page count.  You are to engage critically with the question and provide your own carefully reasoned response. Please note: a carefully reasoned response is not simply your opinion about the topic.
Paper Propmt: 
In one of our most tense political moments -the 2020 Presidential Election- some commentators described our form of government as a “republic” and others describe it as a “democracy.” Both descriptions are true but not the whole truth. Describe the American form of government and why the Founders chose it. Use recent real life policy examples (1950s and onward) to explain its benefits and drawbacks.
