During Week 1 assignments and study, we initially examined the significance of maintaining public-private partnerships in combatting various threats to organization assets. We focused on private security operatives and public law enforcement agencies and the ways these entities can share information and work together to achieve mutually successful threat prevention and risk mitigation strategies and goals, particularly relating to all types of traditional criminal behavior, emergency management preparedness, and terrorism.
Our Week 6 assignments and study focus specifically on how security and intelligence units for private organizations (as described in Week 4 assignments) and government agencies, such as the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), can maintain collaborative efforts to prevent, mitigate, and manage risk in a way that protects an organization’s assets and indeed those of the United States more effectively.

Explain how an organization’s cybersecurity program, particularly those operating in the DHS 16 critical infrastructure sectors, support our national security interests and, at the same time, add business value to its own assets. Use examples to enhance your response.

Describe the technological advances that could potentially be exploited through such public – private partnerships to more effectively protect assets. Provide examples using authoritative resources to support your response.
