Ideation Portfolio (Individual Activity).  All ideas in this class need to be related to one (or more) of the U.N. SDGs. First, you will identify an opportunity based on a “gap.” Then, you will identify an opportunity based on a “problem.” Finally, you will identify an opportunity based on an “innovation.” The “gap” and “problem” ideations are meant to form new ideas and new companies. The “innovation” ideation is meant to explore new ways to do something existing (e.g., identify a company and develop a way it can be better and/or more effective and efficient in some aspect). This portfolio deliverable is meant to be roughly 3 pages—one page per ideation exercise. See folder related to Ideation on Moodle.
IMPORTANT TIP—Please do NOT ideate on a business idea that is focused on either “laundry” or “book buying/exchanging”…I have seen too many of those and they are not good ideas. AND, if I can do a quick Google search and find 5 options for your particular idea that already exist, please pick another idea. Also, ideas that focus only on NC State are usually not very successful.
