Research the idea of Feminist Foreign Policy generally. General research sources will be posted on Canvas to start you off. You must conduct additional research. 
Select a thematic focus and use your chosen theme to focus your discussion and points of reference:

Expectations and evaluation
Communication: Evidence of editing for quality of argument structure and development, language. Language clear, effective, without errors in grammar, spelling, and formatting. Proofread please!
Argument: Argument must be highly relevant to core themes of the course and must be a feminist political theory essay. Must have a clear thesis and development, anticipate counter-arguments, and persuasively argue your case. Must show that course discussions, materials, and assignment topic and thematic focus  have been clearly thought about. Engage with themes and perspectives from our course generally; particularly texts with international politics themes. (See syllabus). Your own point of view must engage thoughtfully and critically with them. 
Research, sources, and citations: Additional research is required and should be employed to great effect. Critically select and evaluate your sources. Texts from syllabus and additional sources should be  engaged critically and purposefully. Essay should not only  summarize sources but  demonstrate great understanding of the texts (arguments, implications, contexts, etc.). Evidence should be  used appropriately and skillfully.  Citations are used and in the correct Chicago endnotes format indicating page numbers or paragraphs where appropriate. (Example of endnotes in the Angela Davis reading.) Also include a works referenced list / bibliography.
This course provides a broad overview of (mostly) Western political
theories that can broadly be called feminist or proto-feminist and that range from the middle
ages to the present day. We will explore the diverse and at times conflicting political values of
feminisms, the very definition of ‘politics’, what feminist inquiry reveals about a given
state/society, and what particular historical context reveals about feminist theories.
