Unit Essay Assignment 
Write a short essay, about five-to-six pages (double spaced) with standard footnoting, bibliography, and scholarship standards. 
This essay MUST be on a topic that is within the geographical boundaries of course unit’s region.
There are three options for the essay. Choose only one. These are:
Option 1: Country Profile
Write a country profile that can be based upon statistics, historical developments, future potential, the country regarding the United Nation’s Sustainable Development goals, or a combination of perspectives. The file of Internet Resources has several sites to begin research. This file is posted under Course Information.
Option 2: Topical Essay
Write an essay that discusses a theme found in the course text or presented material or write an essay on a current event. Draw on the course material, internet resources, and contemporary reporting.
Option 3: Tourism Destination
Write an essay that discusses a tourism destination. Use the World Heritage List (found in the internet resources) as a good place to start. Discuss why someplace has become a desirable destination, why it’s significant, and its role in better understanding our world.
